Beautiful! But of no value to my escaping from predators, and indeed if I stand and gaze admiringly at such a photo, I might be distracted and actually caught by a predator!

Of no food value either.

So why would we have a sense of beauty? Do we need a Darwinian selective explanation? If so, why? Could there even be such an explanation? That's interesting to think about.

But it's more interesting (and pleasing) just to look at!
