I don't see how people are managing to get so low on this test, whatever it is testing. I have no color vision problems and my laptop is new, so where am I going wrong?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1812431336777691886.post-79289728909343858242013-09-29T15:58:13.584-04:002013-09-29T15:58:13.584-04:00This is interesting because I always associated Sk...This is interesting because I always associated Skinner with behaviorism, which is what I thought operant conditioning was about or an aspect of. Of course, I haven't ever worked in psychology, so would not have known about these nuances. I'll look at the link you provided. One of the classics by Skinner I remember reading was his "Are Theories of Learning Necessary?" http://psychcentral.com/classics/Skinner/Theories/ which does not specifically mention Hebb but deals with that side of Behaviorism.

You might or not be interested in this more recent book review touching on the Hebb/Skinner differences I just found: http://www.cogsci.ecs.soton.ac.uk/cgi/psyc/newpsy?11.027

p.s. But I just looked through my old, tattered copy of Hebb (which was, I think, one of the leading intro psych texts at the time), and while it certainly claims that the field should be biology--behaviorist--the index doesn't really refer to Skinner nor to 'operant conditioning'. But that's what I was taught in my psych class.Ken Weisshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02049713123559138421noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1812431336777691886.post-48730356762119349342013-09-27T17:30:29.923-04:002013-09-27T17:30:29.923-04:00No, not Hebb.
