Life science got invaded by physicists, and the disciplined was turned into a clone of physics of pre-WWII. In the meanwhile, physics moved away from its hope of finding grand unified theories for everything. Especially, the discovery of superconductivity principles and other rules related to condensed matter physics showed that all natural phenomena could not be explained by "grand unified theories".
